On Monday, I flew out to Arkansas to be in Kent Engle's wedding. Kent is my best friend (after my wife, of course), so it was a priviledge to be able to share in his special day. Laura and he make a very nice couple; I wish them the best.

Cheese Curls, Anyone?
When is the last time that you enjoyed a cheese curl this much?
It is hard to believe that a whole week has passed since my last post; time sure does fly! I trust that each of you had a blessed Easter weekend. On Friday, Missy and I went to a youth rally. Nathan Purdy, a Penn View student from Ireland, preached a wonderful message on the cross. At this time of year, I especially like to think about the sacrifice the Jesus paid so that I could be free from my sins.

This, That, and the Other
-We had a two-service mission's emphasis day at a small church in McKeansburg, PA today, and God blessed us with excellent services. The people and atmosphere were wonderful. Approximately forty-five people attended the two services and gave an offering of close to $2,000 for EFM!
-I am proud to announce that my youngest brother Jeffrey has qualified for state finals in the "National Geographics" geography bee; only one hundred students from the whole state make it that far. It would be great to see him go to nationals.
-I took the mission van that we are using for deputation to Wal-Mart yesterday to get the oil changed. After I checked the van in, I discovered that I had left my wallet at home. My dear wife had to take an hour out of her day just to run my wallet to me.
-I flew my helicopter 1261 feet (see previous post) on my second try; let me know if you can beat that.
-Devin is still as cute as ever. He has started walking, and life is just that much more interesting.

We Made It
I want to thank the Lord for helping us to make it home from Ohio safely last Friday. We were scheduled to have a deputation service in Glouster, OH on Friday and a mission's convention in Canton on Sunday, but these were all canceled due to a major snow storm (we heard that Canton got 17 inches).
We left Ohio on Friday to try to beat the storm, but we hit a good bit of it. Cars were sliding off the road all over the place; at one point we counted around a dozen vehicles off the road in a two mile stretch. Things were pretty nasty, but thankfully we made it home without any problems.
The west-bound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed because of this accident, and traffic was backed up for miles. I'm just glad that we were heading east.

News from North Carolina
I just want to write a quick note to let everyone know that we are having a great time in North Carolina. God has been helping us in our deputation services. We have had the opportunity to visit with several of my family members as well, and have really enjoyed that.
For some unknown reason, Br. Hight's famous picture (see last post) somehow made it into a presentation that I did for the mission convention at Carolina Christian Academy. I felt terrible about the slip, but the congregation seemed to really enjoy it.

Happy Birthday!
Hey, when you're this old, I guess you deserve a nap! Tomorrow is Br. Hight's birthday, and I want to do my best to make his special day a memorable occasion. I'm sad to announce that our dear vice president has threatened me with dire consequences if I were to ever post this picture. Actually, I think that he was using a little reverse psychology, and deep down inside is looking forward to the popularity this photo will bring him.
Tomorrow we head down to North Carolina to start deputation. On the way there we will stop overnight to spend some time with Missy's grandma. We will be gone for two and a half weeks, so I don't know whether I will get a chance to post for a little while.

I'm Back
I'm back, and a lot has happened since my last post. I finished my internship with Pastor Jacob Martin at the Sunbury God's Missionary Church. Missy and I had a great time while I was working there, and it was a great learning experience for me as well.
