A Bloody Mess

This past Sunday we were at our church in Paraiso. Devin was out with some of his little friends when one of them came in to tell us that he had fallen and was bleeding. We weren't quite prepared for what we saw, but fortunately the wound looked worse than what it really was. Devin must have fallen on a stone and punctured a small hole in the back of his head. He never cried throughout the whole ordeal.
Oh yea, if you don't have anything to stop a bleeding wound, pour a some coffee (in the pre-liquid state of course) on it. That's what we did, and it seemed to work.

Awww...bless his heart...looks painful and scary to a Mommy and Daddy's heart!

I haven't had internet for a couple days so wanted to tell you that we are SORRY that you lost your pics. We missionaries value EVERY picture we take, so our hearts are sad for y'all!

I well remember when the Robberts and our family were all there in Costa Rica and they were robbed at gun point. It was a SCARY thing! We will be praying for your safety...God is ABLE!

I remember too while we were there that the 2nd floor of our CONCRETE apartment and then later our concrete school building were moving and shaking around during various earthquakes...it is NOT a comfortable feeling!

Have a great day in Jesus today.

Injuries like that do hurt.He is a brave little boy.One of the little boys from church got hurt like that at the last harvest party our church had. There was alot of blood too and he had to get a few stitches in the back of his head.I felt sorry for him and his mother. The poor child was really crying and the mother was totally freaked.

Man, you guys are just bursting with adventures in the first few weeks of your time in C.R.! I don't know if I want to go down and visit you or not!

At least you've learned something about first aid -- though not likely something your mom would have suggested.

We prayed for you last night in the youth meeting. We'll keep on doin' it.
